Literature Text

I watch the clouds roll by,

Planes dart across their faces,

I wonder which one caries my heart,

Caries the man who holds my life,

On it's way to Tennessee,

The place I wish I was right now.

Like birds across the sky,

Each headed to new places,

Before my eyes they dart,

Carrying a husband away from his wife,

Taking people where they wish to be,

Through the skies they plow.

Sitting beneath the skies,

Daylight fades into night,

My phone rings through still air,

His voice greets me on the line,

Words of love and comfort hold me,

And I know Tennessee has my heart.

I know his words aren't lies,

And our love will survive this fight,

We will have worries we'll both share,

But I know it'll be just fine,

Because he holds a love I can see,

And a promise from which I can't part.
